VISION
Considering that I am not a teacher but work in the Tech World, my vision for showcasing will focus on student employees working in our IT Department. Technically, it is a simple and realistic vision that will help our students to get the “Real World” experience while they are still in school. It will be challenging for them but will be broken down into segments. As I implement this vision, my ultimate hope is that students will be able to understand the theories and concepts. The difference between theory and hands-on from a practical know-how will instill into them and make them comparative to their peers. This will provide the opportunities and resources that will help students to develop self-direction and extend their learning experience beyond college. As it is known especially for the people I have spoken to, my vision is to make a difference to our students, to the people we support ie faculty, staff and to our community. Knowing that there exist many different learning styles, whether as a professional in a specialized field or simply trying to enhance the way you do work to serve people, I know we learn best by doing, sharing ideas, experiencing the way we do work to improve our skills. Moreover, my vision will make students or team members to be responsible to the college and each other for the successful completion of the work in the department. In addition to this essential duties and responsibilities of each position, every team member is held accountable to demonstrate outstanding communication skills, effective collaboration, personal initiative to overcome obstacles and the ability to work effectively to meet deadlines. Overall, this vision will be implemented using a Course-sites Blackboard Course Management System that I have created and used in the department. This will comprise of knowledge-base articles and test of all level to help our student employees’ success in their educational/technical endeavor.
